Bio

Adwoa Gyamfi is a Ph.D. Nursing Candidate at the University of Connecticut, School of Nursing with qualifications in MPH, BSc., RN, PGDip (Clinical Genetics and Genomics, Education). Ms. Gyamfi served as a clinician and health tutor in Ghana for 14 years before enrollment in the University of Connecticut’s doctoral program in nursing.

Research interests

Human milk and lactation, maternal and child health nursing, health disparities, genetics and genomics, health policy and injury-related studies.

Selected awards and scholarships

The University of Connecticut, School of Nursing Graduate Assistantship, Fogarty International Scholarship, PEO International Peace Scholarship, Margaret McNamara Education Grant, and Mead Johnson Nutrition Scholarship.

Future ambition

Nurse scientist in a tenure track faculty position in a research institution.

Hobbies 

Gardening, making new friends and sewing.
